2 years Ban on Mahesh bhupati and Rohan Bopanna

Mahesh Bhupathi on Tuesday slammed the All India Tennis Association (AITA) for imposing two-year ban on him and Rohan Bopanna. Speaking at a press conference, Bhupathi said that he was still not clear why the ban was imposed on them. Bhupati said that AITA does not have a code of conduct is run under a one-man rule.

Bhupathi also said that AITA president Anil Khanna was unhappy with him as he was contributing more to the sports than Khanna and was doing things which Khanna ought to have completed. He also said that some ought to take AITA to task for the sake of the game and the country.

Bhupathi also said that he was thinking about legal action against the decision.

Bhupathi said that his integrity towards the game is unquestionable. Bhupathi said, "Ban at the twilight of my career is unacceptable."

He further said that, "AITA supremo Anil Khanna has enjoyed the rift between Paes and me as no other. Anil Khanna has redefined the term divide and rule."
